Ahhhh….holiday shopping season. The time of year to get trampled in the stores and high blood pressure in the parking lot. Not for me. I love to do all my holiday shopping online. Unless there is a deal so good that I just have to have it, I almost never step foot into a store to complete my shopping list…I'm stressed out enough! Research your favorite deals online, then for even more savings, check out sites like RetailMeNot.com or CouponCabin.com and search for coupon codes for your favorite shopping sites.
The biggest reason people would rather go to the store, is to avoid paying for shipping. Every year, over 2000 retailers participate in Free Shipping Day. This year, it's happening on December 17th. Check out FreeShippingDay.com to find out what retailers will ship your purchase for guaranteed arrival by Christmas Eve for free! Go there now and sign up for reminders.
For those of you that just have to go out to the store, never underestimate your local supermarket or drug stores like CVS for gifts and stocking stuffers. Check out their seasonal aisles for lots great deals. If you need it, layaway is back at many major retailers. Toys R Us, Kmart, Sears and Wal-Mart are all currently offering layaway for those larger items that you can't quite afford right now. You can make payments on them and pick them up before the holidays. However you decide to shop this year, there are lots of savings to be had! Never pay full price!
