Hey guys! Intern Danielle here!! Yes, I know what you're thinking: Intern Danielle? I thought we got rid of this girl months ago. Well, you my friends would be correct! But, like strep throat, the Twilight craze and dumb Blonde moments, it's hard to get rid of me. I'm still paying for that one time in 6th grade when I defined the vocabulary word "sameness" as "the same as a guy named Ness."
This post has been a long time coming! It has been delayed for many reasons, which I will not bore you with now.
So, to finally get this up and ready to post, I have selflessly decided to write it while I sit at work. I know, I'm a giver (which coincidentally is the exact name of the book I was reading in 6th grade when I made that Freduian Slip!).
What can I say that I haven't said? I am in love with this place and the amazing people who I get to see and talk to and learn from every day! I am honored to be back this semester to learn even more!
I am now going to recap my time for the past few months here in as little words and bad puns as possible. Although, knowing me and how clever I think I am plus my lack of filter, that might be easier said than done.
When I first got here for my first day back, I felt like a kid coming back from summer camp; I was tan, worked on my lanyard skills all summer and excited to be reunited with my long lost buddies! Side note: every time I ran to hug someone, I felt as though all it needed was a slow motion cut and some theme music to really capture the moment. Too bad my life isn't a romantic comedy!
Coming back...It felt like riding a bike. I'm proud of myself for remembering how to do things from last semester and jumping right back into the swing of things! I even got back into answering the phones with the swagger of Soulja Boy("Call Me Through" the phone anyone? Confession: I've called that number many times!), but not quite the same finesse as Carla Marie! People are crazy and kind of scary on the phones and it's awesome to hear everyone's stories and opinions on what's happening.
So what has happened this semester? I met makeup artist/guru extraordinaire Bobbi Brown and had quite the little nerd moment! I was thrilled until I realized I had been up for five hours and my makeup looked like I had applied it with a paint roller! Oh well! Check her interview out here.
Also, Nicki Minaj came in and I think I died a little bit that day. Seriously though, I am a ghost typing this! She was awesome and so stylish! Do you know that my future plan for my life, if the whole college degree thing doesn’t work out, is to become a rapper?!? I know, I know…you can totally see my spitting some mad rhymes, right! Check her out.
Also, I got to witness the ladies of the Morning Show practice their “Gangnam Style” and was thoroughly entertained and impressed with their skills. Maybe an audition for “America’s Best Dance Crew” is in order, hmm girls?? Just saying. Check out their video here.
And the other day, Greg T's topic train was HIGH-larious and I got some great callers for it! It was awesome! And afterwards I got a hug from the conductor of the topic train himself! Needless to say, my day was pretty much made at that point!
Okay...I think this ridiculously long post should be good. If you have read this far, I applaud you and your not so short attention span. Personally, I have the attention span of a peanut and have stopped paying attention to myself writing a while ago.
In conclusion, it's good to be back and I am sad that my time here is slowly, but surely coming to an end!
Peace, love, and cookies,
Intern Danielle
