Interns must be available to work in our NEW YORK CITY studios, 2 days per week starting at 5 AM until approximately 2 PM. You must be in to pop culture and be fun and VERY outgoing. No, really. Ask someone if you are fun. If they say no, then trust them.
First thing’s first, I showed that copy machine who’s boss. I still get a little lost now and again, but usually for good reason, like that one time I had to chase down Andy Samberg. That’s right, a task I was given at WORK was to chase down ANDY SAMBERG who needed to sign notebooks for CHARITY. There is nothing wrong with that statement. After I finally tracked him down, I had to wait for him to finish up the second interview he was doing and sat with what I will refer to as his two managers and a woman from our promotions department. After about fifteen minutes of awkward silence, his male manager, who I LOVED, told me I could explain to Andy what I needed but that he only had a few minutes. To make a long, mildly uncomfortable, slightly embarrassing story short, I got him to sign the notebooks and only made a minor fool of myself. No matter, there was ice cream cake waiting for me when I got back because Elvis Duran and the Morning Show LOVES food.
Every day I spend here involves something fun, whether it’s Carla Marie’s mom baking pumpkin squares, the Creeper Box being brought out, or my having to perform Justin Bieber haikus (I really hope that video ends up somewhere), but the day always ends in laughter. The Elvis Duran and the Morning Show Media Mixer was the first time I got to experience a work event outside of the show. The interns were there to help with sign in, hand out gift bags, take video and pictures, and help with anything else people needed. If there is one thing I took away from that night, it’s how wide reaching Elvis Duran and the Morning Show is and just HOW much people love it. If there had to be a second thing I took away, it’s that The Wanted are absolutely adorable. Their performance was kept under wraps and it was a GREAT surprise. Also, I got to be in the same room as Mike Woods, who I have had a crush on since I was about seven years old. You might know him as the weatherman for
