We were given an insider sneak peak last week at one of the most talked about holiday releases of the season! Target teamed up with Neiman Marcus to create an amazing designer holiday collection with over 50 gift! The designers ranging from Diane von Furstenburg, Rag and Bone, Lela Rose, Oscar de la Renta to Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs, this unprecedented collaboration is packed with HUGE names in fashion.

Items range from $7.99 to $499.99, and became available nationwide at Target and Neiman Marcus Stores and online on December 1st.

Web Girl Kathleen sat down with Josh Thomas Target Spokesperson to chat about the exciting high-end items that Target has made widely available at affordable prices.

Web Girl Kathleen: I can’t believe I’m here with Josh Thomas at maybe one of the most exciting holiday events of the season! The Target Neiman Marcus Holiday 24 Pop-Up Shop opened just this morning at 9am. NYCers are allowed to shop this coveted collection before it hits Target stores nationwide. Hi Josh!

Josh Thomas: Hi! I’m sorry I have to correct you. MAYBE one of the most exciting pop-up stores this holiday season? This is THE HOLIDAY POP-UP STORE!

Web Girl Kathleen: It is! I have been looking forward to this Holiday Collection for months.

You had huge names here on the Target Neiman Marcus pop-up shop red carpet last night. Zoe Saldana, Shay Mitchell, plus Kate Bosworth and Leighton Meester just to name a few. What is it about Target that can generate such star power?

Josh Thomas: Last night we saw an incredible turn out and a number of fantastic celebs were with us. Really it is power of two powerful brands like Target and Neiman Marcus coming together. They are brands that consumers, customers and fashionistas alike LOVE. The possibilities of us coming together for the holiday season was endless and you’ll see that in this collection.

Web Kathleen: Previous Target collaborations, Go International Designers and the Shops at Target collections have mainly been apparel and accessories for women, but you’ve branched out to men this time in the Target Neiman Marcus Holiday 24 Collection with designers Thom Browne and Rag and Bone. Will we see more high-end products for men at Target in the future?

Josh Thomas: Well if you look at the entire collection, and it is more than 50 different items, the idea is you can find something for everyone on your shopping list this holiday season. Whether it is your girlfriend,  your dad or your babysitter… there is fashion for men, fashion for women and accessories for the home. We even had Oscar de la Renta create a dog leash, a dog collar and porcelain dog bowl. Most items are under $60 dollars so it is an incredible value.

Web Girl Kathleen: I’m loving the pet accessories. I saw that Target’s official dog "Bullseye" was posing on the red carpet last night with THE Diane von Furstenberg. Is he spoiled with this holiday collection?

Josh Thomas: Bullseye can never resist a good party, so we were thrilled to have him here last night on the red carpet and I’m sure he will be eating his Christmas dinner out of that Oscar de la Rent porcelain bowl!

Web Girl Kathleen: The Missoni for Target caused unprecedented chaos for Target shoppers both online and in-stores. Are you expecting the same frenzy for this Neiman-Marcus Holiday 24 Collection? Have you had to amp up power behind Target.com so it doesn’t crash on December 1st when the Holiday Collection becomes available to the public?

Josh Thomas: The buzz we’ve seen surrounding this holiday collection has been unprecedented. The full collection will be available at all Target and Neiman Marcus stores across the country, as well as Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. If you think about Missoni and how incredibly popular that was, we have more than doubled our inventory. The collection is available for just a limited time only, so we want as many customers as possible to be able to enjoy it they or get something for someone on their list. The other element that has changed is that we are putting quantity limitations on what people can buy. You can only buy 5 of each item. It is something that we haven’t done in the past. The idea behind that is we can as many people as possible to experience the collection.

Web Girl Kathleen: What items from the Neiman Marcus holiday collection will make the best stocking stuffers?

Josh Thomas: What wouldn’t make a great stocking stuffer? Some of the bigger items like the Alice and Olive bike would need a bigger stocking… you might have to get creative. If you have someone who loves to bake we have some incredible cookie cutters from Band of Outsiders. Or if you have someone who brings their lunch to work, Tory Burch did an amazing thermos and lunch box. You are really going find the perfect gift for anyone on your list with a designer touch!

Web Girl Kathleen: I love the Tory Burch lunch box and thermos! I want to go back to grade school so I can be the chicest girl in the cafeteria! What kind of snacks will fashionistas be putting in their lunch boxes this season?

Josh Thomas: What is so amazing about many of these pieces, including the two pieces that Tory created, is that many of the designers created pieces outside of their real [fashion] houses. So Tory is not necessarily known for a lunch box and thermos, but that is what she wanted to create for this collection. I have to tell you … you can put anything in her lunch box. I actually have friends of mine who will be sporting it as a purse this season!

Web Girl Kathleen: The item that I have been coveting from this collection is the beautiful Alice and Olive bike! I want to put on a pair of Keds and ride through Martha’s Vineyard with a beautiful sun hat! How can girls get away with riding that beautiful chic bike in a place like New York City?

Josh Thomas: What is so fantastic about that bike, and OF COURSE we had to do a bike…everyone has gone so gaga over our designer bikes in the bikes... is that the attention to detail on that bike is fantastic. The floral print on that bike actually came from Alice and Olivia’s Spring runway show and is hand applied onto that bicycle. There is an extreme attention to detail that you won’t find on other bicycles. I think it makes the perfect accessory particularly during the winter, although it gets a little bit chilly. If you look at the bright colors it will bring a little bit of spring time to the streets of New York.

Web Girl Kathleen: The item that I’m about to go buy is the beautiful Lela Rose cocktail dress. You can dress it up, dress it down and a cocktail dress is essential for any woman during the holiday season.  What are some accessories that girls can pair with this dress that may not be as ‘high-end’ as Lela Rose, but can still keep the dress looking pretty and fresh?

Josh Thomas: The amazing thing about the Lela Rose dress is that you can easily dress it up or dress it down. Lela Rose is an incredible designer and if you want to be wearing one of her frocks you would be paying thousands of dollars. Our version is for under $100 dollars. It is incredible deal of a steal! I would pair it with, just to ensure you stay warm, the amazing Prabal Gurung double-faced wool cape from our collection. It is perfect accent piece to that dress.

Web Girl Kathleen: I loved Target’s partnership with ABC’s Revenge and the “shoppable” short film, “Falling For You” starring Kristen Bell.  Will creative multi-media ads become the norm for Target? Do you think other retailers will catch on to Target’s cross-platform genius?

Josh Thomas: Target, from both a merchandizing and marketing perspective, is known for pushing the boundaries and striking innovative strategies. We are really pleased and proud of the initiatives we had earlier this year and we’re going to continue to push the boundaries. You’ve seen some incredible things come out like the “Falling For You” short film with Kristen Bell and the amazing integration with had with “Revenge” and the five interstitials we ran during the programming and we will continue to raise the bar on ourselves.
